Pamela Beer’s artistic journey began over 35 years ago as a way to unwind from the demands of everyday life. Starting with watercolors and later moving to acrylics, she explored different styles and techniques. But it wasn’t until 2013—when she left her corporate career—that she fully embraced life as an artist.
“Art is more than just paint on canvas—it’s a reflection of personal discovery, resilience, and the beauty found in abstraction.”
Dedicating herself to daily practice in her Sammamish, Washington studio, Pamela initially created representational art with a whimsical precision. Over time, she realized that abstract art spoke to her in a deeper way, allowing her to capture emotions rather than recognizable forms. This shift led her to explore new techniques and materials, searching for a medium that truly resonated with her vision.
Her breakthrough came in 2018-2019 with oil and cold wax. This medium, applied with larger tools instead of brushes, challenged her to loosen her approach and embrace bold expression. Though it wasn’t an instant fit, persistence led her to discover a new level of creativity—one that allowed her to translate complex emotions into striking visual narratives.
Each of Pamela’s abstract works starts with raw, energetic strokes, reflecting life’s chaos. Through layers of paint and careful refinement, these initial bursts evolve into balanced compositions filled with color, movement, and meaning. The result is art that invites contemplation, offering a sense of both tension and tranquility.
Her latest collection of original pieces will be unveiled at our next virtual art show “Momentum“, which opens on February 20th at 10am MT. The show will close on February 22nd at 4pm MT. Be sure to create your free Collector Account early so you are prepared for the show open!
