Diane Cirafesi is an artist whose work delves into the mysteries of life and the rituals that surround them. Whether it’s formal religion, mysticism, or everyday moments, Diane explores the intersection of the sacred and the profane through her art. Her creative process involves breaking down both materials and imagery, allowing each mark to become part of a larger, ritualistic journey.

“In the end, art is a solitary, personal, and probably selfish experience, that exists intimately between the artist and the tools of the art.”

For Diane, creating art is a personal and solitary experience. She sees it as a ritual of working and reworking an image, leaving traces of the struggle between the artist and the tools. These artifacts of the process serve to create a contemporary statement, one that speaks to both the method and the message behind each piece.

Her artistic journey spans over 40 years, and her work has been featured in solo and group exhibitions nationwide. Diane holds a B.A. in Humanities/Fine Arts from West Chester University and studied under the well-known Chadds Ford artist Rea Redifer. She is also a co-founder of The Art Trust, a non-profit organization in West Chester that promotes contemporary art for the benefit of both artists and the community.

Through her art, Diane continues to explore the boundaries of life, ritual, and mystery, creating work that resonates on a deeply personal and universal level.

Her latest collection of original pieces will be unveiled at our next virtual art show “Fancy That“, which opens on November 14th at 10am MST. The show will close on November 16th at 4pm MST. Be sure to create your free Collector Account early so you are prepared for the show open!
