In the end, art is a solitary, personal, and probably selfish experience, that exists intimately between the artist and the tools of the art.
About Me
I explore life and mystery through my art.
I have always been drawn to the ritual, be it formalized religion, iconography, or hocus-pocus/voodoo/mysticism. I examine the relationships between the sacred and the profane, even within the everyday banalities of existence, with mystery and myth surrounding all. My method of breaking down the actual materials used, and then breaking down the imagery, is part of the sacrifice of the hand of the artist making marks, part of the ritual of making art.
I define my process as working and reworking an image, leaving artifacts of the struggle of the toolmark and of the image, creating a contemporary statement and form.
