Meet David Castle, an award-winning artist from Denver, Colorado, whose journey to becoming an abstract painter is as fascinating as his amazing abstract works. Born in the late 1960’s, David initially pursued a career in computer science, which took him across the USA and Europe, where his love for art truly blossomed.
In Brussels, David took his first painting class in 1993, sparking a passion that would eventually lead him to leave the tech world and dive into a full-time art career. His extensive travels through North America and Europe have deeply influenced his art, drawing inspiration from the diverse landscapes and urban environments he has explored.

David’s unique approach to painting blends traditional techniques with innovative experimentation. He combines paper, brush, water and oil, color, air, surface tension, and gravity to create dynamic abstract compositions. His works are infused with the vivid colors and shapes he encounters in nature and cityscapes, reflecting the beauty of the places he’s visited.
Having studied with numerous artists across North America, David has completed many large-scale commissions for corporate, public, and private collections worldwide. His dedication to breaking conventional rules and constantly experimenting with new methods makes his art both captivating and unique.
David’s latest collection of original pieces will be unveiled at our next virtual art show “An Unexpected Twist“, which opens on Wednesday, May 29th at 10am MT.
