Protect the art you love so it will last for years.

Some pieces have been in your family for generations. Others are recent additions that quickly became part of your story.

Here are a few basics to keep your artwork and jewelry looking their best:

  • Keep pieces out of direct sunlight. Even with protective glass, sunlight can fade artwork, and jewelry left in sunny spots may discolor or weaken.

  • Watch out for humidity. Damp places like bathrooms or basements can cause mold, rust, or other damage. Keep treasured pieces out of damp areas.

  • Check fastenings and hardware on a regular basis. A quick look at prongs, clasps, or hanging hardware can save you from losing or damaging something special.

  • If you have a cleaning service, let them know which pieces need extra care—or plan to handle those yourself to keep them safe.

  • Reach out to the artist. If you’re unsure, the person who created the piece often has great advice for keeping it looking wonderful.

With just a little care, your treasures can stay vibrant and full of meaning for years to come.
