Meet Rebecca Sower, a mixed-media artist and storyteller who wields her brushes and palette of colors instead of a pen and paper. Rebecca believes that art should sing a song and tell a tale – and that theme can clearly be felt throughout her work, each piece invites us to linger just a moment longer as it feels as though there is a hidden narrative waiting to reveal itself.

“I keep looking to my hands. They are my favorite art tools. Are they beautiful? No. But maybe I can use them now and then to create beauty with my art.”

Born in Nashville and now residing near the tranquil banks of the Tennessee River in north Alabama, Rebecca’s art is a reflection of the world around her. Her creations are a testament to her fascination and love of the intricate details of nature—the meandering branches of trees, the subtle expressions on human faces, the graceful movements of wading birds. Through her eyes, the natural world is imagined through lines, shapes, and layers brought together with harmonious composition.

Rebecca’s artistic process is one of discovery and exploration through layers, each one adding meaning, depth, and complexity. Any viewer of her work will be delighted by the hidden secrets and unexpected surprises just waiting to be revealed.

Rebecca’s art invites us to pause, to take just a few extra moments, and to look deeper to find the stories woven within each piece.

We are thrilled to be unveiling Rebecca’s latest collection at our upcoming virtual art show “Stories We Tell” (Feb 22-24).  To learn more about Rebecca and her work, visit her official website:  RebeccaSowerArt.com
