My water fountain has become the neighborhood hangout, especially in the winter.
This painting is part of my Abstracted Nature series, inspired by my love of gardening and the wildlife it draws in.
Each painting begins with an abstract collage, built from fragments of botanical prints made using plants gathered from my garden. I often incorporate image transfers, leaf imprints, vintage notions, ephemera, and other materials to add depth, texture, and narrative.
