Artist Notes:
Ganesha, long honored as the remover of obstacles and a patron of intellect and learning, is depicted in this cloisonné pendant rich with layered color. The figure rests in the center of a blooming lotus mandala creating a sense of unfolding petals. The mandala radiates outward in balanced symmetry, symbolizing expansion, clarity, and connection.
Designed with a wider bail to keep the pendant from accidentally flipping around during movement of everyday life (even though the reverse could also be shown).

Cloisonné is a technique in which fine silver or gold wires are applied to the metal surface to form small cells that are then filled with layers of enamel (ground glass). Each piece is fired repeatedly — often fifteen or more times — allowing color, depth, and surface to develop.
