Reverse dot layered pink brooch
Artist: Kaz Robertson
$325.00
Framing:
Ready for display.
Medium:
Resin, white metal and rubber
Substrate:
resin
Artist Notes:
This large round resin brooch has a reverse dot pattern set within the clear resin. This technique is unique to KAZ. The pattern is 3D inside the clear resin and has a beautiful effect.
The brooch is finished with a bright cerise pink edge and layered with red polished stripy element, and an extra little maroon round with a lilac spot inlaid.
It has a very smooth, tactile finish.
The brooch is finished with two white metal pins on the reverse which are held in place with coloured rubber stoppers.
A gorgeous accessory to pop your outfit and would look great on a chunky knit or jacket.
The brooch is 3 inches in diameter, 0.7 of an inch at its deepest part.
I’ve always loved experimenting with colour and creating patterns, so when I discovered resin at college I knew it was the perfect material for me to create my pieces.
From mixing the pigments to create custom colours, to drilling and sawing into the surface to form the patterns I can’t imagine working in a different material, it’s very versatile.
With this collection for Divine I’ve played around with the use of colour. The reds and pinks complement each other beautifully.
I’ve also incorporated my ‘changing stripes’ and ‘reverse dot’ KAZ techniques into a few of the pieces. These are techniques that I have experimented with across the years and allow a different way for me to create pattern within my work.
I hope this collection will spread a little bit of much needed joy and fun!
