Quiet Hour

I see many visitors in my garden including small flocks of crows. They're highly social birds and remarkably adaptable to their environment.

This painting is part of my Nature Series, inspired by my love of gardening and the wildlife it draws in.

Each painting begins with an abstract pattern, built from fragments of botanical prints made using plants gathered from my garden. I often incorporate image transfers, leaf imprints, vintage notions, ephemera, and other materials to add depth, texture, and narrative.

I'm fascinated by the interplay between natural elements and man-made objects, and how their interaction shapes the final piece. As I work, a theme gradually emerges, and the "puzzle pieces" start to fall into place. I'm always intrigued by how these various elements come together to tell a unique story.
