This piece is framed in a low profile raw maple wood frame.
Acrylic, charcoal and thread on canvas.

This piece was painted with acrylic paint before I drew the hands on with charcoal. Throughout the work are layers of paint and charcoal, leaving faint lines to show through from the background. The finishing detail of thread in this piece are hand-sewn with recycled cotton thread. While working on this piece I was thinking about forest conservation and protecting our environment.
For protection all my work is bagged with a thin plastic bag. I place cardboard corners on each corner and a piece of cardborad spans the face of the piece. I then wrap the piece with plastic wrap and ship in a box with bubble wrap.
