Artist Notes:
Brutalist earrings were fabricated by fusing two pieces of fine silver to each other (for each earring). The pieces were 'scraps' from another project. I intentionally left a slit between the two pieces. The opening reminds me of cracked concrete and splits in icebergs. The texture on the front also has an ice like look and the fine silver’s whiteness reinforces this idea. The back of the earrings have hammer marks. The earrings have large ear nuts for support so the earrings do not fall forward when worn.
