Leslie Miller’s artistic journey is a profound exploration of the layers that make up the human experience. A contemporary oil painter, she uses cold wax medium to create works that ebb and flow through transparency and opacity, much like the complexity of life itself. Since 2014, Leslie has honed her craft through independent study, constantly refining her intuitive process of layering and removing wax to build depth and narrative in each piece.

“I believe the unique beauty of a person lies where their influences, their values and their experiences coincide.”

Originally from California and raised in East Tennessee, Leslie’s diverse life experiences inform her work. Her paintings are more than just visual expressions; they are deeply influenced by the past and present, creating a story within every layer. Represented by the K Newby Gallery in Tubac, Arizona, Leslie’s work has found homes in private collections across the United States. In 2016, she was honored with the Master Meed award by the Tubac Center of the Arts.

Beyond her own practice, Leslie is passionate about fostering creativity in others. She serves as the founding director of the Tubac School of Fine Art, where she also teaches workshops, sharing her expertise with students locally and online. Her commitment to the art community is evident, as she brings instructors from across the country to inspire and educate.

Leslie’s work and approach to art continue to evolve, always rooted in her love for the rich, layered stories each piece tells. Now residing in Tubac, Arizona, she remains an active force in both creating and teaching art, always exploring new ways to express the depth of human experience through her medium.

Her latest collection of original pieces will be unveiled at our next virtual art show “Fancy That“, which opens on November 14th at 10am MST. The show will close on November 16th at 4pm MST. Be sure to create your free Collector Account early so you are prepared for the show open!
