Kim, a Colorado native, has been an award winning silversmith, goldsmith and jewelry designer since 1997. After living, studying and working in London for 14 years, she returned to Colorado in 2003 where she makes her distinct, clean-lined jewelry and silverware that embodies her philosophy of “less is more”.
“I want the viewer to experience a sense of wonder and beauty of the materials I use as expressed through the creation of a new distinctive object.”
Kim’s work is defined by her attention to line, form, edges, and texture. She combines traditional and non-traditional methods to celebrate the natural qualities of the materials she uses, whether it’s precious metals or other materials. Through her designs, she strives to evoke a sense of wonder, showing the beauty and simplicity found in each piece.
Her artistic journey led her to teach at the Art Students League of Denver and Metropolitan State University, sharing her passion with the next generation of artists. Kim is also the president of the Colorado Metalsmithing Guild, a role she’s held since 2020, and her work is part of private collections in both the U.S. and Europe, as well as the Kirkland Museum of Fine and Decorative Art in Denver.
For Kim, crafting jewelry and silverware is more than just a profession—it’s a reflection of how she sees the world. Her pieces are thoughtfully designed to inspire curiosity and appreciation for the materials and forms she so skillfully brings together.
Her latest collection of original pieces will be unveiled at our next virtual art show “Fancy That“, which opens on November 14th at 10am MST. The show will close on November 16th at 4pm MST. Be sure to create your free Collector Account early so you are prepared for the show open!
