It all started with a sketchbook and a burst of inspiration—the kind that comes from a child’s boundaryless imagination. One day, after drawing the entire cast of Shrek, Hannah proudly showed her work to her father. He turned to her mother and said, “Hey Joanne, I think we have an artist on our hands.” It was the supportive nudge she needed to embrace her passion and learn her craft. Although there was a brief period in junior high when she considered becoming an archaeologist, Hannah’s obsession with drawing and creating never really faded. Hannah spent hours scribbling on the walls of her childhood home and teaching herself to draw. Art became her favorite language, one that she was eager to speak at every opportunity.

“My work is my offer; an ice-breaker and invitation to an exchange of perspective and unhampered self expression.”

Growing up as a self-proclaimed wallflower (no pun intended), Hannah often found herself dreading social interactions. Table manners and polite conversation were her worst nightmares. Yet, beneath each fidgety exchange of pleasantries, there was a deep-seated determination to express her awe that we even exist and a longing to share her wonder. Through her art, Hannah found a way to express herself and connect with others on a level that words often couldn’t reach. For Hannah, her art is an offering—it serves as both an ice-breaker and an invitation to engage in meaningful exchanges of perspective and unhampered self-expression.

Hannah’s creative journey led her from Oregon to Pennsylvania, where she worked as an assistant to her artist aunt. She studied art, psychology, and music at a small university in eastern Oregon, gaining the tools to express her inner thoughts and feelings through her work. Now, Hannah creates wherever she goes, whether on the East Coast or the West, bringing her unique perspective to each piece.

Hannah Wave Flower’s art is more than just visual—it’s an invitation to connect, to share in the awe of existence, and to explore the beauty of vulnerability. Her latest collection of original pieces will be unveiled at our next virtual art show “An Unexpected Twist“, which opens on Wednesday, May 29th at 10am MT. The show will close on Friday, May 31st at 6pm MT. Be sure to create your free Collector Account early so you are prepared for the show open!
