David Castle, a Denver-based abstract artist, brings his unique perspective to life through bold, colorful works. His journey into the world of art began after a career in computer science, during which extensive travel throughout North America and Europe shaped his creative outlook. It was in Brussels in 1993 where he first explored painting, which later blossomed into his full-time passion after leaving the tech world.
“After years of painting abstracts full of linear shapes, I’ve now embarked on a new path… of Circles!”
Inspired by the diverse landscapes he has encountered, from mountain peaks to urban skylines, David uses an array of materials—brush, water, oil, and paper—to create his dynamic pieces. His process is experimental, often shaped as much by his tools and the environment as by his experiences with nature. This hands-on approach to abstract painting brings a sense of movement and spontaneity to each work.
Over the years, David has earned numerous commissions, with his art appearing in public, corporate, and private collections across the U.S. and internationally. His pieces have been featured in exhibitions and festivals, most recently at Denver’s D’art Gallery. His abstract compositions capture the interplay of natural elements, merging colors and shapes into something entirely new.
David’s evolution from computer scientist to award-winning artist is a testament to his creative spirit. He draws inspiration from the world around him, transforming everyday scenes into vibrant works of art that evoke a deep sense of place and discovery.
His latest collection of original pieces will be unveiled at our next virtual art show “Fancy That“, which opens on November 14th at 10am MST. The show will close on November 16th at 4pm MST. Be sure to create your free Collector Account early so you are prepared for the show open!
