Originally from New York, I’ve lived in Colorado most of my life and now live in Denver with my sweet pup, Rosie, where I split my time between the studio and the garden. Gardening isn’t just a passion—it’s an extension of my creative process. Many of the plants I grow eventually become part of my art through handmade botanical solar prints. These prints are created by placing plant cuttings on photosensitive paper and using sunlight to capture their silhouettes—a simple but magical process.

My mixed-media work begins with layers of encaustic medium (a blend of beeswax and damar resin) and builds through layers of texture and history: botanical prints, leaf imprints, image transfers, vintage notions, and bits of found ephemera. I’m fascinated by the contrast and connection between natural elements and man-made objects. As I work, a theme slowly emerges, weaving these fragments together into a piece that feels whole.

Each work is an invitation to pause, look closer, and reflect on the beauty of the natural world—and our connection to it.

About Me

After years as an oil and watercolor painter, a friend encouraged me to take an encaustics workshop. It was love at first fuse and I've never looked back.

Most of my encaustic work features bright, bold colors and combines original prints with layers of luminous transparent wax. It's a process of scraping through those layers, then building back, adding patterns, lines and textures. The fun—the challenge—of encaustic is its flexibility and versatility. I’ve just scratched the surface of what this medium has to offer and can't wait to explore more.

I'm always surprised when a painting finally comes together and I say done. Now, it's out there to tell a story, to bring a little beauty or joy, or spark some long-lost memory.

I'm constantly amazed that I get to create this thing we call art. Just amazed.

Fun Facts

Gardening—"I live in my garden, I just sleep in my house."
Rosie—she is the love of my life; all 15 lbs. of wagging, twirling, furry happiness.
Entertainment—I love cozy English mysteries. Light on violence (a bonk on the head or a little posion will usually suffice), clues abound and the killer is always caught.
Adventures—I've traveled the roads of Iceland (waterfalls & glaciers), Newfoundland (Icebergs, anyone!), Great Britian and Ireland. This year, New Zealand.
My hammock—It's where I go to destress, nap and just hang out with Rosie.
