You can't use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.
About Me
Originally from New York, I’ve lived in Colorado most of my life and now live in Denver with my sweet pup, Rosie, where I split my time between the studio and the garden. Gardening isn’t just a passion—it’s an extension of my creative process. Many of the plants I grow eventually become part of my art through handmade botanical solar prints. These prints are created by placing plant cuttings on photosensitive paper and using sunlight to capture their silhouettes—a simple but magical process.
My mixed-media work begins with layers of encaustic medium (a blend of beeswax and damar resin) and builds through layers of texture and history: botanical prints, leaf imprints, image transfers, vintage notions, and bits of found ephemera. I’m fascinated by the contrast and connection between natural elements and man-made objects. As I work, a theme slowly emerges, weaving these fragments together into a piece that feels whole.
Each work is an invitation to pause, look closer, and reflect on the beauty of the natural world—and our connection to it.
Examples of My Work
Fun Facts
- • Gardening—"I live in my garden, I just sleep in my house."
- • Rosie—she is the love of my life; all 15 lbs. of wagging, twirling, furry happiness.
- • Entertainment—I love cozy English mysteries. Light on violence (a bonk on the head or a little posion will usually suffice), clues abound and the killer is always caught.
- • Adventures—I've traveled the roads of Iceland (waterfalls & glaciers), Newfoundland (Icebergs, anyone!), Great Britian, Ireland and most recently, New Zealand (waterfalls, penguins and albatross!).
- • My hammock—It's where I go to daydream, nap or just hang out with Rosie.
More About Me
What do you wish you could tell your younger artist self?
Relax. Life will happen, so take chances, make mistakes and remember to have fun along the way.
What other non-artist jobs have you had?
Graphic designer, pet adoption counselor and humane education assistant.
When did you know you were an artist?
A better question is "When didn't I know?" Since childhood art has been a source of comfort, retreat and self expression. My earliest memories revolve around making art. Art class was my happy place.
