Bold shapes, color and physical textures inform my work. Through these elements I create images which express my response to the world around us.

About Me

I was born in Kenya, have lived in many different countries, and now reside in beautiful Colorado. I bring my experiences and appreciation of diverse cultures and beliefs to my artwork.
Being of Indian origin, with African and American West sensibilities, I’m naturally drawn to bold shapes, colors and textures: shapes formed by light and shadow, small and often overlooked objects, the mound of a hill, the shape of
a flower.

More About Me

What do you wish you could tell your younger artist self?

Know thyself, and then draw and paint without judgement.

What inspires you?

My paintings reflect my love and appreciation of nature and spiritual beliefs. These are layered in my mind as textures - old buildings, trees, mountains, traditions and scents build an emotional response that is expressed in my work.

Which artist (famous or not) has influenced you the most and how?

Matisse and Diebenkorn. They showed the world to dare to be different, and not just follow the popular path.
