Art--whether creating or experiencing it-- is a meditation in action.
About Me
I’m a landscape painter with a background teaching yoga and meditation. I am a daily meditator, and bring this perspective to my creative process.
So, I’m interested not only in the subjects I paint, but also the process itself. I try to capture the ineffable atmosphere in which things take place—the quality of mind that accommodates all things.
I’m fascinated by the ever-changing moods of the natural world--the color of uranium mountains at sunset, purple snow shadows on a cactus field, or the sky’s electric intensity before a thunderstorm. I’m also interested in the moods, or states of mind evoked by being in nature, and enjoy the challenge of expressing these emotions in color and form.
My hope is to convey the peace and spaciousness of the gorgeous mountain landscape surrounding my home in Crestone, Colorado, so you can have your own spiritual awakening in the sanctuary of your home.

More About Me
If your life had a theme song
The long and winding road.
What do you wish you could tell your younger artist self?
Start taking your art seriously! I wish I had started that sooner.
When did you know you were an artist?
At age 7, when I sat at my best friend's kitchen table, her mother fixing us a snack while we colored.
Mrs Hohman said, that's very good Kim! I said, "I know. When I grow up I'm going to be an artist."
So much for humility.
