Meet Marie…
I’m a printmaker and painter, specializing in original monotypes and monoprints, as well as original acrylic and mixed media paintings depicting include the Pacific Northwest where I live and make art. Having grown up in Western Washington State, I’m especially drawn to the waterfront, both the Pacific Ocean beaches, the mighty Columbia River, and the serene Willapa Bay. My work includes a variety of topics, ranging from coastal subjects, floral designs, forest and foliage, and the human form, to total abstraction. My unique style incorporates strong contrasts, vivid colors, collage, printmaking techniques, and a variety of mediums including oil, acrylic, watercolor, and soft pastel. I have owned and operated Marie Powell Gallery for 32 years, located on the waterfront, Port of Ilwaco, Washington.
