Meet the incredibly talented Jennifer Yoswa, whose work is a celebration of human experiences depicted through a palette of colors that tell soulful stories of love, heartbreak, joy, and life’s unexpected quirks.
Jennifer’s journey with art began at a young age. She carried her art supplies everywhere and even started an imaginary fashion business, designing clothes in paper catalogs she handed out at recess. Though her passions changed as she grew older, she rediscovered her love for creating in her mid-thirties. After dabbling in various crafts, it was oil painting that truly captured her heart and allowed her to find her “missing piece.”
“The day I picked up a paintbrush and applied paint to canvas was the day I discovered my voice…and I haven’t stopped ‘talking’ since.”
Jennifer’s artistic influences include Giorgia Mirandi, Picasso, Georges Braque, and Amedeo Modigliani. Each has contributed to her unique style, which combines elements of still life, cubism, and portraiture. Jennifer’s portraits, mostly of women, are colorful, soulful, and playful, celebrating their complex yet essential roles in our world.
Jennifer’s art is intended to resonate deeply with viewers, inviting them to connect with their own experiences and emotions. Her work is empowering, tender, and often mischievous, featuring unexpected elements like a hole in a sock or bunny slippers. Her characters are an extension of her voice, narrating the beauty and intricacies of life.
Her latest collection of original pieces will be unveiled at our next virtual art show “An Unexpected Twist“, which opens on Wednesday, May 29th at 10am MT. The show will close on Friday, May 31st at 6pm MT. Be sure to create your free Collector Account early so you are prepared for the show open!
