when i started pondering what i wanted to create for the Weird show, i found myself drawn to the subject of the sea. where do we find some of the most bizarre and weirdly wonderful things? in the depths, as well as the shallows, of the ocean. my work became inspired by tentacles and tendrils and texture and so much more. inspired… by the sea.
here i am offering asymmetrical earrings reminiscent of jellyfish, with filaments reaching, twisting, grasping. ear wires are accented with sparkling, golden champagne zirconias, with little ‘shells’ of water cast silver droplets. the jellyfish mantle is hollow, created from reclaimed silver that has been melted and poured into water to create these organic, unexpected shapes, beneath which sterling silver tendrils dance and dangle.
