I love this little vessel! It sits quietly on a shelf but begs you to pick it up, hold it in your hand and play with the hat lid. The color is created with a patina made from hydrogen peroxide and salt. Simple household ingredients that produce a rich orange color. This copper vessel is hand-made by raising a flat circular piece of metal, shaping it by hand with hammers over a steel stake. The hat lid is a separate circle with a fabricated top knot. The whole vessel has several coats of paste wax to protect the color. Please store it out of direct sunlight and clean with a soft cloth. Additional wax coats may be applied as needed.
