Building Ghosts is an ongoing series in which I explore the memory of places and the quiet traces left behind in urban landscapes. Over the years, I’ve collected photographs of these “ghosts” in different countries.
I’m drawn to the ghosted outlines that appear when buildings are demolished — the faint shadows of staircases, the lines where rooms once met, fragments of paint and tile still clinging to exposed walls. These subtle marks hold stories.
Building Ghosts are easy to overlook in a culture that is constantly chasing the new and the polished. For me, they are reminders of what once was, and of how places, like people, carry layers of memory.
