Forest + Sky

"Forest + Sky" is what I see when I day dream. Unless I'm on the coast and then it's sea and sky. But there's that ever-present horizon line that anchors every view we all have. Literally everywhere.
And, these are my cool colors - calm from the forest and open blue from the sky. The metallic silvers in this are particularly awesome - glowing throughout and super-saturated in that horizon line. So much so that it adds a texture that you can see and feel.

About my Rains Series:
My Rains Series is inspired by my love of everything "water" - from the Pacific Ocean itself to the rains I loved for years around my previous home and studio in Oregon. This series launched my experimentation into mixing oil and watercolor paints. Like all my abstracts, my Rains are also inspired by the colors and shapes of the urban and rural terrains I've discovered on my travels throughout North American and Europe. Each paintings is layers of oil paint and metallic watermedia paints.
