April’s journey as a jewelry artist began with her deep connection to nature, which was cultivated during her childhood years in Montana, where she spent countless hours exploring the outdoors. This fascination with the natural world led her to notice the intricate beauty in things that often go unnoticed—like the delicate petals of a blossom or the texture of a tree’s bark. As an artist, she now transforms these elements into works of art through traditional casting techniques from her home studio on the Washington coast.

Each piece of jewelry April creates is a fusion of the natural and the contemporary. She casts the organic items she collects into sterling silver and gold, then embellishes them with beach stones and gemstones. What makes her work even more compelling is her commitment to using ethically sourced materials.

April’s love for bringing together nature and art goes beyond jewelry. With an MFA in photography, she has explored the intersection between natural and manmade forms through her lens. Beyond creating jewelry, April has a history of giving back to the community by sharing her knowledge with aspiring artists. She has taught high school jewelry and art courses and assisted at various jewelry workshops across the country.
