Years ago, when Jon was but a wee lad, he looked to the skies and wondered “what's up with this wind?” or something like that. Jumping forward decades to when he was bored with painting, Jon grabbed his pliers, torch, copper scraps, and wire, to begin sculpting kinetic mobiles. At last, the wind revealed itself. No, he's not going to tell you the secret.

When people look at his mobiles, their first comment usually is “Have you ever heard of that guy, you know, what's his name - Calder?” Their second comment is “Ooooh, I love the way they move, they're so whimsical and fun. Can I have one?”

So anyhow, I make mobiles. Been making them for over a decade, and no, I don't use a spreadsheet or formula to balance them. I am a supergenius (it's on my business card, so it must be true). Being a supergenius, it's easy to find the right balance. Actually, there's a secret, and if you're really nice, I might tell it to you.
