About Me

After years of studying illustration and biomedical illustration in college, I suffered a stroke in 2010 that paralyzed the right side of my body, my painting hand.

What was initially a challenge as an illustrator, became an opportunity turned into an invitation to embrace a looser, more abstract style.
I began to see my left hand as a new tool that needed to be trained.
As a former athlete, I knew it would be a battle to retrain myself to paint, draw, and do life with my left hand, but I have been given this incredible opportunity to create and teach my art!

I love it all! I love listening to music and audiobooks and working on paintings. I love bringing people together and teaching classes. I love talking to people about the kind of artwork they desire and the vision they have for commissions.

Getting here took faith, an athlete’s work ethic, and much support from my husband, kids, family, and friends. Thankfully, I have the ability to move my body, laugh with friends, and create.

  • Travel/Escape: I enjoy going for early morning walks along the boardwalk in Newport Beach, CA.
