“Our lives create a layered, beautiful story filled with places, people, and experiences, both the good and the bad, both the seen and the unseen.”

About Me

I tell my own stories and those of collectors through paper and paint. I’m inspired by nature and the whispered, deeper narrative found in the trees, skies, mountains, and fields that connect with our stories. In every piece, there is a the surprise of subtle collage materials that peek through the paint and create a new layer of meaning and interpretation. My works range in size from tiny 6″ x 6″ to large 4′ x 4′ pieces and beyond. I’ve been creating in mixed media for the last 20+ years and can’t imagine doing anything else with my life. For me, to paint and to be in nature is when I feel most alive.

Examples of My Work

Fun Facts

  • Hobbies-- I love reading. I typically have 5 books going at one time. Fiction, business, spiritual, self-development, and art.
  • Family-- I married my opposite and as a result, I have two children who are also complete opposites to each other. It's as fun and as challenging as it sounds.
  • Quirks--I don't like things to be perfect, so if I'm cleaning the house, I will make sure that there's a little clutter left over, a little dust, etc, to make sure that I feel "comfortable" in the house.
  • Film--My favorite movie is You've Got Mail. Yes, I'm that old.
  • Food-- I'm currently a big fan of adult lunchables... bits of foods that might usually be a snack, but when combined, make a great meal.

More About Me

Which artist (famous or not) has influenced you the most and how?

Andrew Wyeth is one of my all time favorite artists and I’ve studying him and his work. His compositions, color palette and style have greatly impacted my own.

What inspires you?

Right now, I'm super inspired by the bare trees, dried grasses and botanicals. They all have such great shape and texture and the neutrality of the color helps me focus on those simple things that I often take for granted.

What other non-artist jobs have you had?

Most of my non-artist jobs have been in retail and customer service. Working at department stores, greenhouses, and grocery stores. This has always been a great balance for me as an extrovert artist since art making is often done alone.
